Scope of the contract
While Geneva was offering an ever-increasing range of cultural activities (concerts, cinemas, evening events, etc.), many young people from neighbouring communes were left without means of transport to get home when the cinemas and certain public places closed. This created problems in the public space, particularly in terms of safety.
Suggested solutions
To make up for the lack of public transport services after midnight, the future founding team of mobilidée – as part of the Youth Parliament – came up with the idea of a night bus service. After two years of hard work in close collaboration with the Geneva Public Transport (TPG) and the communes of the Geneva region, and a few twists and turns, Noctambus took to the road for the first time in 1995.
